Cinematic Christmas

I wanted to make a new video, since I had a little time on my hands. Also, having to film made me finally clean out the impossible mess that was my room.

I got my christmas things up a little late this year, but they fill me with happiness all the same. Most of my decorations are gifts from my family, some of which is no longer with us. That of course makes them even more important to me.

Even my Nimbus has been invaded by elfs!
And today I grabbed these pretty cheap blu-rays up at my local Blockbuster. I had been wanting to see Brave for a while and I was pretty much just waiting for The Great Gatsby to get a lower price tag, haha.

I saw Catching Fire with Rikke. None of us have read the book and we were so uneasy the whole time about Finnick (Psycho? Cool? Killer?!), but I really enjoyed it. As always, I loved Stanley Tucci, even though I like the blue hair better haha.

Christmas at Tivoli! I haven't been inside this year and I think I'll just skip it. But it was nice to enjoy the lights from the outside.
I went to my friend Julian's Glee Club concert a week ago. It was very fun and made me cheerful when I needed it in the midst of this horrid exam period. Urg. I just finished my second exam paper and the 3rd is being given to us this Friday. Merrrrrrry Christmas!

After classes yesterday I convinced one of my uni-girls to accompany me to the theatre. We're getting the exam questions for our final exam today and I know I would have gone crazy if I had to wait until after the due date to see it.
It was a very long film and still I didn't feel like we got to know the characters. The new addition to the film, Tauriel "the female elf", was a very vague character. I did really like all of the elves' though. Lee Palace as the Elven King is very convincing and Legolas' and Tauriel's fighting skills are very exciting! Smaug got me pumped up, but the fragmented timing of the narrative made me frustrated - each time I neared the edge of my seat, they would switch location and the OHMYSMAUG-feeling would disappear.
+ 3DHFR sucks. My eyes actually hurt and the film looked way too glossy urg.

Disney invited us to a closed screening of Frozen three weeks prior to the Danish premiere. I even got to bring Aybike with me. I disneybounded as Anna and finally put my suddenly super long baby-hair-fringe to good use. Afterwards we ate brunch for 4 hours together.
And to close this entry off is my shorter hair. I got off about 15 cms but it wasn't a lot of hair because of how thin it was. I was kind of freaked about how short my hair was for 4 days...

Foods and photography

Ever since I started uni my life has been pretty hectic and stressful, even though I feel like I'm not really doing a lot. It just takes up so much time to read the academic texts and I don't have time for much else than that and work. Zombie existence urg.
But I did get to do some fun stuff despite my packed schedule. We ate out on my dad's b-day and it was one of the most delicious meals I've had in a very long while.

The temperature has dropped little by little with the leaves on the trees. And we even had snow! It's nice to have some great toffees to eat then.

Brrr, cold weather calls for marshmellows and hot cocoa.
I ended up getting free tickets for Thor, which was great since I hadn't found the time to see it prior to that! So I called Rasmus up and the conversation went something like this:

Me: Hey, did you want to see Thor?
Rasmus: Hmm, not really?
Me: Did you want to see Thor for free?
Rasmus: I have never wanted something so much ever.

It was much better than the first, so I was pretty content with it !

Before Jossa went to the UK for The Day of the Doctor we went out to eat at Sporvejen. It's quite possibly my favourite spot in Copenhagen in winter. It's a small restaurant where the entire interior is an old tram !! So cool and cozy when it's freezing outside.

I asked Rose if she wanted to go to the National Museum for the japanese photo exhibition that just opened. They had free putikura machines - it was so weird getting them taken in Denmark, haha. And that text inside the photo booth was absolutely ridiculous.

Some japanese purikura tried to recreate the old photographs and the results were so funny!
On a slightly more disturbing note, one of the photographed men on the shown purikura looked 100 % like my dad. I literally think it's him every time I look at it...

My Tutor group at uni's christmas party was held on the Day of the Doctor, so I couldn't resist dressing a bit up in timey-wimey style and my Doctor Who shirt haha.

The parcel game went well! I got 3 gifts woop woop. And I had wrapped those gigantic sunglasses and he was the perfect recipient.

Cruising to new events

Thursday I Disneybounded as Marie just to be a bit dressy for Halloween. It was super fun and the others at uni thought it was cute.

Two weeks ago we had time off for half term and the annual Culture Night began the festivities as always. Rundetårn had been clad in changing lights just for that one night (!) and I got a lot a vintage movie guides for free at the Danish Film Institute - I'm thinking of framing some of them (not the ones pictured above, haha)

Breaking the lawww and pressing our heads through the bars above the rooftops. And getting into postman costumes, seeing a haunted house, carving pumpkins, listening to classical music and seeing elf dance + a choir performance was events we experienced that night. I hung out with Maria and her multinational exchange student friends from Copenhagen Business School - it was great fun!

I then proceeded to have a super high fever and generally just feel bad for the rest of half term, booohooo. But I did have a grand experience seeing the first premier of the sequel musical Skammerens Datter, which dear Anne who interns at the theatre got us. It was sublime to have that added to the otherwise empty half term.
Sunday I hung around my room in my Wildcat gear and...

Dan and Phil played What Time Is It? on their BBC radio1 show. Brilliant way to end the vacation!
People were tossers and sat in line in front of my Disney Store for the new iPhone from really really early. They queued for a unbelievably long period...

Today I became a really happy camper when I finally bought myself a Vespa - I've been dreaming of one for the longest time and it just feels unbelievably fantastic to have it in my possession! I was supposed to wait until spring to buy it, but the price was so low that I just couldn't control myself! Who am I to resist a bargain...
