Hot and COLD

Summer really returned to Denmark this weekend! The degrees were nice and warm again while the sun shone down on us. Of course I did everything I could to take in as much sun as possible!

Some weeks backs we went to the countryside to visit my grandparents and some friends of ours. They have a summer house near the sea and after eating a nice lunch we went down to it.

The "private" bridge and me screaming in the water. Boy, it was cold! I had only gone in the sea down in Malaga, and the temperature is a lot colder up here. But it was really nice to have done it - such a refreshing feeling!

It was a little cold even though I tried to fight my nerves with thoughts like "Why, it sure is warm"! So after a little while I put on my extra clothing.
But we hunted crabs too! It's probably THE most summery thing to do in my opinion. Every memory of a good summer vacation I have includes hunting crabs. I reckon you need quite a lot of time on your hands to do it, but it's just so relaxing and fun.

Trying to tan a little bit. I have turned pale again, since it's been a month since Malaga already! It is really annoying...
My father is relentlessly looking for crabs down under the bridge haha. By that time I had lost interest in it - after an hour it gets a little boring.

And homemade soda ice cream in Mickey Mouse container! I love those kind of ice creams, since they have a sort of healthy feeling to them. Haha, I know it sounds silly.

Gorgeous-looking butterflies and a single bumblebee from my grandparents garden.

Partir à Paris! Cultural part

Before traveling to Malaga with my family, I went to Paris with some friends! I've been to Paris 3 times before - but it had been 7 years since the last time. I thought I knew the city so much better from my previous stays than I actually did.

Last time I went in the Notre Dame cathedral and in my head it was small and unimpressive. It was everything but. I loved the feel of it because - and I know it may be a lame reason - I had so many songs from The Hunchback from Notre Dame going on in my head and I was astonished to see how alike the movie-cathedral and the real one were.

Esmaralda sings while walkinggggg. That was all I could think of in there.
And some delicious Korean food. It was my first time tasting Korean food, haha.

I love gates and gateways. Seriously sighed audibly over that golden gate there.

Yours truly reflected in sunglasses, Louvre pyramids and funky art inside the main pyramid.

Modern, antic and classic art where everywhere in the Louvre. It was my first time visiting and was actually the only thing I was craving to see. It was really fun seeing a lot of pieces I've seen in study books during my art class last year.

Of course we saw Mona. Surrounded by tourists flashing her face every second. Man, no wonder she's breaking... I was surprised of how big she was! I've heard how small she should be and had expected a tiny painting.

I loved how much the museum changed all the time. One minute it was royally dolled up with gold all over, another it was raw and modern.

Hercules punching her arms offfff - remember that from the movie? I think she's a Venus... And some headless angel?

Funky mirror in a "royal" room. And big-ass staircase.

Walking around the city we found this bridge! There were countless love locks and I just thought it was incredibly sweet. But then again, sometimes love isn't wanted. And maybe she was a bitch?

An adorable couple on that very bridge. Sun setting. Romantic, yes?
And I'm pretty proud of that first photo, haha!

There are so many quirky shops in Paris! I loved these two - the retro chocolate shop and the pinkPINKpink perfumery.

I find the Metro signs very sci-fi-looking. And yes, I am just chilling in the middle of the street.

LOOOVING Paris. Can you tell?

L'Opera is so sublime. We didn't have time to enter, but even the facade took my breath away.

But some of my followers may wonder... Wasn't I supposed to participate in Japan Expo in Paris? Wasn't that the entire reason for my going? Yes it was. And the con-stuff will come in the next post.

Weekend happenings

This weekend went by quickly, but for the first time in ages I could not care less - because today was my last day of school! Now the study vacation begins - the period in which we will study for our exams. Me and my freckles have been looking forward to this...

I started the weekend off by going to the movies with two good friends Friday. We watched Limitless - a movie that I had thought looked like the worst kind of cliched action before watching the trailer. It was really cool! The plot moved forward too slow at some points - but the excellent soundtrack and the colour editing made up for that! Go see itttt.

I went to a cousin's confirmation Sunday. Most of my family lives away from my home, so we had to drive up there. The sky looked bogus - I could actually see that it was raining 1 km further ahead. Which explains the rainbow.

It was very well-planned and there were so many songs in her honour! This is a tradition here - the family write lyrics to the melody of well-known songs and they are most often about the past childhood and the coming greatness of the "child".

The last thing to report from the weekend was the leek party I attended at Jeongie's and Mads' place. Everyone had to bring a leek and they - emphasizes on THEY - ended up making juice and all kinds of things out of them...

I had a great time! It was fun talking with old friends and some to-bees (?).

I'd really wanted to make my hair full of volume and grand curls but I didn't have the time for that. So I had to find another solution... And boy, do I look like my mother like this. It's really odd to see such a big resemblance.

I'll finally turn in now - my examinations and year-end grades were announced just now around midnight and I wanted to see them before going to sleep. I'm pretty content.
