Golden Treats

Life has been weird since this new year started. I don't have a lot of interest in the courses being taught this semester and I'm super low-energy. But I've become good at using my pick-me-ups to turn the sour days sweet!

I've attended a few test screenings. Mortdecai was funny enough but what I loved to watch was The Shamer's Daughter. The book has been such a big part of my childhood and I remember reading in the newspaper that Universal or someone had bought the rights soooo many years ago. But it never happened... and now the Danes produced one for ourselves! It was good to see it in Danish - it would have been far to odd to suddenly have an English Dina.... They did a great job with the adaption but it was super surreal seeing the film.

I attended the CBS girls' party at their new crib! Tiny flat + lots of people = humid.

We held a reunion dinner with my high school ! Four of our old teachers even came. It was such a nice time and we had a great turn-out.
I've eaten way too much delicious foods lately... I really love crêpes.

We got free tickets from Disney when Big Hero finally hit theatres all over the nation. Jesus that took a while... So I went and saw it in English for the first time. And met a friendly droid!

Silly 3-D ad just by the Store.

Golden hour shone so brightly for the first time in forever that I just had to snap some photos. I started playing with the light and the duality of my eyes and face.

It was really fun! I adore the second in the middle!!
These are, as always, completely unedited fyi.

A gorgeous new addition to my 50s wardrobe. The colour is most like the photo on the right. It's really a brilliant dress - my hair just goes a littel too well with the shade haha.

They try to make me go to rehab...

Rasmus finished his make-up artist exam last week! I was his model for the exam. He had to do beauty make-up and some speciel effetcs. The latter were nasty haha.

He did so good and I'm real proud of him! He's gotten so gewwwwd.

It was weird having to wear grey contouring - since he had drawn B/W photo that's what he applied on me. The lil' lady was such a darling. I kept her on my body until she washed off haha!

Some delightful Swedes came to visit and that meant Japanese food, chilling at Julie's and dancing the night away at a club filled to the brim with 18-year olds haha (we we there with Aybike's kid sister). But the DJ was the best in recent YEARS. Damn he managed to not play ANY sucky songs.

My babies. Rasmus got his results on Tuesday and held a little celebration. We played Cards Against Humanity! That's always fun.

I've been drawing a lot recently. Trying to keep up my incentive to draw at least 10 min a day! Behold: my present for Aybike a few weeks back when she turned 20!
And my first fully-coloured piece depicting the moment when my heart broke. I marathoned Gravity Falls ahead of watching the newest episode and damnnnnn it pumped me up so much! GF is really well put togethser.

Sometimes my hair is magic.

The weather has been getting sunnier and I brought out my thinner coat today. I soon discovered that it is a little too cold for it still though....

Oscar's Glitz

Straight after J-Popcon's busy schedule I went to nap and then quickly changed into this year's Chosen One before heading to the live screening of the Oscars with fellow Film and Media students.

We were running late but got to take a photo with Oscar like every other person in the theatre haha. But the official photographer snapped a few of us as well. Then we saw The Theory of Everything as a pre-grame screening. It was very sweet and I enjoyed it tremendously.

Then came the Red Carpet which showed more variety than recent years and I loved how the actresses spoke up.

I wore my vintage Paris dress. It was not as uncomfortable as I'd feared to sit in it for hours on end !

It was a pretty good show. I liked how Neil put the spotlight on just how white this year's Oscars were but other than that he hosted an uneventful affair.
I love that they have reinstalled the tradition of allowing all the nominated songs to be performed. The Lego Movie performance was on crack... so weird and utterly brilliant of course.

The winners' speeches were sweet and short but Common and John Legend's speech on racism and accept touched me while Graham Moore left me speechless. Another fantastic moment was Julie Andrews stepping out on the stage and hearing the surprise in both in Imperial and Dolby theatre.

A highlight this year was the absolutely breathtaking graphic introductions. I adored the one for Make-up and Hairstyling but they all stood out.

Favourite dresses of the night. It was all very sleek this year - quite boring. But I loved Anna Kendrick in colour and the pattern in Jennifer Aniston's dress !

Honourable mention to absolutely gorgeous Zendaya - she was not shown in the coverage we saw live, but she looked stunning!
