The Gospel Genki

The 31st and 1st I went to this year's Genki. The location had changed this year to Farum Arena. I only came Saturday and Sunday because I was busy with university introductions Friday - but it really helped to have been at the Arena Thursday for the set-up of the convention. I knew my way around much better that way! And it made it easier to find the location in the middle of the night when I returned from the university party.

Some girls and I performed on stage as the muses from Hercules! Let me tell you, it's been hard coordinating a group this large. But it was so much fun - and we ended up winning both Crowd Favourite and Best Scenography!! Wowowowow

Our act is online on Youtubeeee.

Saturday was spent tanning oh so naturally for flipping hours, rehearsals, show and photoshoot. Marie was Calliope and her wig was very itchy and huge - relief was a natural reaction upon taking it off. Tina had forgotten to eat all day, so she was naturally euphoric at the sight of food, haha.

Backstage with some of me people. And Julian came all of a sudden as well! He had asked me about Genki a few weeks prior, but I didn't really think he would want to come for another year. It was great to have another Genki experience with him.

Michael took some bloody gorgeous shots of us.

Sascha and Kenny arrived super late Saturday and I danced a bit with them at the rave. But unfortunately planning and performing took pretty much all of my energy those two days and I didn't get to see and/or hang out with as many people as I wanted to.
I ended up sleeping just as late as the night before, because it took about an hour to wash off my tan.. I needed quite a thick layer, you see. PALE PERSON.

Sunday morning was spent with a con tradition - breakfast with the others.

Yummy bread Tina brought with her. And naturally we played around with the silhouettes on the walls. I have to admit, I find these photos very much funnier than I think I should be...

Mmmhmm.... And Rasmus finished his Bomb Voyage!

He did tire of his fake chin-elongatator and not everyone was pleased to have it go round. And naturally I wore Elastigirl to match my foe! (And Julian even came dressed as Aladdin once more, haha - it's just so odd to see your "ordinary" friends cosplay!)

Mona is the chin master.

Genki-times over once more. I'm a bit sad that I didn't have more energy during those two days - but having been super social all week long at my new university I just wasn't up to it :( And I did have a really nice weekend - even if it was more relaxed than my usual cons!

Introductions to education and infinity

The 27th of August I took the metro to my new place of education: Copenhagen University and their bachelor education in Film and Media. Pretty quickly I bought my books, was sorted into a seminar team and a cross-team social group. The latter had an undercover senior posing as a new student - but he pretended to be a über nerd with only one passion in life: Pokémon. Which is why everyone in that group now has a Pokémon card to wear as beautiful necklaces.

The 4 introduction days were social activities only. So we had games in the King's Garden, saw Psycho in the Danish Film Institute and partied a little bit as well. The last pictures was taken at Friday the 30th's party, where every group had to put on a show inside a specific genre - we drew Morten Korch, who created very traditional films about love and farming in the 50s. The loser in that competition had to clean up after the party - so we were glad to come in 4th out of 8 groups!

The theme for the introduction days + the upcoming rustour is horror. Groovy groovy.

Twice a week the university run film showings for the upcoming semester's Film History course. I've already missed on of them, but thankfully you can watch the things you miss out on at campus too. Loads of silent films in black and white, I tell you!
... But of course I had to get sick.

This enabled me to finally buy Disney Infinity and play my sickness away. So not all bad, haha.

I feel so badass when I play as Violet. She's superb!
