Japan Tripping - Izu and train to Osaka, day 5-6

My hotel in Osaka didn't really have internet, so that's why I haven't been updating. And sorry for bad spelling in my lasy post, the japanese keyboard was driving me nuts.

At Izu we got a very nice dinner. With loads and loads of fish. And the same goes for the 2 times we had breakfast there. I was so happy to eat something else when we moved on - I didn't want to eat even one more creature from the sea.
This fish was really hard to eat. Firstly, it looked kind of alive. Secondly, it was kind of yucky (not in taste&texture, just the peeling part). Blaurhg, I still get the chills just seeing this picture.

The onsens were divided by gender, so the three of us hadn't gotten to bathe together. So we made reservations for one of the private rooms and went there some hours before we left Izu. It was very nice and relaxing - especially because it was raining while we were sitting in the hot water.

My dad and I went for a stroll down the beach. It was very windy and the waves were powerfull. I wanted to go in, but the stream was too strong, and I was scared of being pulled to sea. Just by standing with water to my calves I could feel the water pulling at my feet.

We packed up and went to take the local train. This time it was The Black Ship Train that took us for a ride. I thought the name was kind of hardcore, haha. And the train was black! Haven't seen that one before...

Inside you could sit facing the windows, which were bigger than usual. Very cool. That way the view became much clearer.

Mmmhm, green tea ice cream. It is the best.

The coast was very beautiful. And the mountains are awesome. I can't really describe how much I like those. They seem so... other-worldly. Every time I see them (and the japanese countryside) I always think of Inuyasha. It - the anime - has been a part of my childhood and I'll never get tired of it. It introduced me to the beauty of japanese nature and that's why I think "Oh! There was a mountain just like that in episode ***" and stuff like that. I think it quite nice.

We had to change at Ito for our shinkansen.

Smokey mountains. Pretty neat, in my opinion.

Japan tripping - On our way and Izu, days 4-5

What a compleately brain-missing day we had yesterday. I still cannot believe how it happened.

The day started in Tokyo, early. We got up and packed away and then went to Tokyo st. to get on our Shinkansen. We made it in fine time and got on the right train. We knew that the trip would be 3 hours long and that we should shift to afterwards. We were looking forward to be in Shimoda soon.

Funky blind-scripting.

We rode out of the Tokyo rain and I fell asleep. And woke up just before the trip was over. Then we had some problems finding the right train and we missed it - with 90 minutes wait before the bext one. Gosh, we were so frustrated.
We went to talk to some taxi guys and I thought I heard something about "wrong side of the island" - they only talked in japanese - and they would not drive us to our hotel. They sent us on laughting.
We sat down to wait for the next trai whilemydad tried to ask around if there was a quicker way. He came back looking dumbfounded. We had taken the wrong shinkansen.
Yes, that is correct. We had planned a wrong route because apparently there are TWO SHIMODAs?! But the train station we were supposed to get off at was named Izusuki-shimoda or something like that.
SO we had to take the train ALL THE WAY BACK to Tokyo. We were just glad we had missed the second train on that wrong route.

It was crazy. 2 times 3 hours made up our one wrong step and then there were further 2 hours of travel to the RIGHT Shimoda. We travelled 1500 kilometers in one day.
I was shocked and angry and let it out on my edamame.
We arrived at our onsen hotel at 21:00, 7 hours later than expected.
So that is where we are now; enjoying Izu at our spa resort. It really is a resort, which I am not that happy about. They were having Hawaii evening when we arrived yesterday. But the onsens are great.

We went into Shimoda town. It is kind of dead at the moment, because we are in the off-season and many shops have not opened up just yet. Still, it was quite fun.

Astroboy candy. Hah.

Japan Tripping - Tokyo days 1-3

Soo, we're here. In f*****g Tokyo. I'm sitting here in my hotel yukata on their wireless. Such. A. Wierd. Feeling. Picture time?? ;)

This was in the Metro on our way to the airport. I was calling some friends whom I hadn't talked to for some days to tell them goodbye. And the other picture issss TAKEOFF, hahaha. My dad and I was all excited about that. The beginning of the journey is that moment! I don't get why people clap at the end of the flight, do it at the beginning, man.

Embassy of Denmarrrrk! Yes, I was there. I saw it. Not really a big deal, haha. I liked that the sign said "Royal Embassy of Denmark" though.
First restaurant-meal in Tokyo. We got to the city at midday, but just bought some junk at AM-PM around the corner. I couldn't eat very well in the plane or yesterday, because I went to the dentists some days ago - and yes, the space between my front teeth is now gone. It disappeared in the crazy time span of 3 hours, so my gums were soooo sore and hurting.

My dad and I headed for Shibuya station and went into 109 where I had to escape - I couldn't take all the impression from all around. Usually I'm a very fast shopper, scanning for whatever I like in a shop. But over here I need to scan for what I don't like, which was a bit too much the first day haha.

It was raining like CRAZY. There was so much water in the streets and we got sooo wet ! I can't say we appreciated the air condition at that point - it was so cold after the rain.

Today my mom and I went to 109 and this time my brain was ready to shop serious. After that we sat down at Starbucks and looked down at Shibuya crossing. It's funny, I always thought I'd be so much bigger.

All three of us then went to Harajuku, to the Meiji Shrine. There was a wedding there - of course. I mean, isn't there always, haha?
After the rain yesterday the heath was surprising and kind of unpleasant. There were no clouds to shield us from it either - damn ;)

My dad was all "Liiiiiv, come take a picture with the big headddd!" but I was like "no !". It was pretty cute though.
We went into the SoftBank shop where they had a whole lot of the new iPhones on display - like 30 or so - and we tried it out. My dad gave it a thumbs-down, haha.

Seriously, this isn't even color edited. My eyes hurt when I looked at these for more than 3 seconds. Anyway, I think they're pretty fun.

Foooooood, mmmmhmhmhmhm. Japanese food would make me 10 kg heavier if I didn't walk so much, haha. But I guess all the walking makes up for the extra food I take in.

Tomorrow we'll go to Izu Island, and I don't really know if there's internet there... We'll see!

Planning packing

So... We just finished packing and will leave for the airport in 10 minutes or so. I thought I had time to one last entry here from Denmark. It's been a stressfull morning but now we are finally ready and set to go !

We're getting on the plane at 15:45 and will be in Japan around their midday. I really hope my jet lag won't be so bad! We start off in Tokyo for only 2 days, so I don't want to sleep them away.

SO we begin in Tokyo for 2 days, then head to Izu Island to relax in some onsen baths for 2 days also. After that we go to Osaka for 3 days and then Kyoto awaits! We'll be there for 4 days and then move on to Hiroshima, where we will stay for 3 days. After Hiroshima we'll get back to Tokyo and there we will stay for the rest of the trip.

I. CAN. NOT. WAIT.

It's wierd that this is really happening. When you look so much forward to something and it's suddenly... there! .. it's just a wierd feeling. Very overwhelming.
And I don't wanna think about just how overwhelmed I'll be when I first see the night lights in Tokyo and I'll finally believe that I'm there.

Motion picturing

Soo, I've been watching a lot of movies these past days. Trying to relax as much as possible to be fully charged for j-country. I've seen some all alone, wich I actually enjoy - yeah, wieeeerdo, I know - and some with Line or my mom.

I watches Acceptance yesterday. It's a movie from 2006 about some high school students who doesn't get into college, but can't bear to see their parents' sad and disappointed faces so they make a fake college to fool them ! I watched it a couple of years ago in an airplane and I thought it was pretty cool then. This time around I liked it too. It's comedy but not the kind of american comedy that I can't laugh of.
Plus, the main character is played by one of the actors in "He is just not that into you" and I like his style - very down-to-earth and charming.

A little while ago I saw The proposal with my mom. We saw it in the cinema as well, but I thought it'd be okay to watch it again. And I think it's one of the better chick flicks. It's not too over-the-top but still a little too perfect and odd to be possible, haha.

We laughed a lot, and my father obviously felt a little lonely downstairs.
Us: HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!
... some time passes... and this scene in the movie starts playing.

Dad: What IS that? Just WHAT are you watching?!
Us: Hahahah, just a chick flick!
Dad: Hm... all right then...

Ryan Reynolds is so great. Can't wait for the upcoming Green Lantern movie!! Even if they are double-cartoonizing him. Jezz guys, you can't use the same actor for both Deadpool and GL... Sigh... But he is kind of perfect for GL and does good as Deadpool.

A blogging game

Stella tagged me in this blogging game about summer. You have to post a picture of a sun, answer some questions and then pass it on to 4 others.

3 things you especially like about summer:
- having bare legs
- getting great buys from the summer sales and summer flea markets
- eating at least 1 ice cream each and every day

3 thing that can suck about summer:
- getting burned by the sun
- having sticky sweat all over - the hands are the worst
- getting greasy hair faster because of above mentioned fact

What do you enjoy doing in fabulous weather?
- eating ice cream
- chilling with friends, dazed by the sun
- beach tripssss

Fave flower?
Eranthis. It's a flower that makes me smile.

Fave color?
I've got none. I pretty much love all colours.

Fave summer dish?
Mmm, koldskål with kammerjunker. It's like yoghurt, just sweeter and more fluid.

3 fave ice cream flavors:
- liquorice
- vanilla
- caramel

Mmm, I wan't to eat an ice cream now, with those three flavors. Arg.

Destination for the travel of your dreams:
Japan (wich I'm taking now, haha), Saint Petersburg and Iceland.

Best travel you've had:
My trip to India with my parents when I was 7. It taught me so much about what was poverty and what was wealth.

Bathing clothes:
Bikini alll the way ! I've got some to change between.

Plans for summer 2010:
