Experiencia Malaga! Part 1

I actually arrived to the Harry Potter Mega Marathon last week directly from the airport, since I'd been to Malaga, Spain, with my parents and my semi-aunt and semi-uncle. And boy, has it been a change in the weather. Here in Denmark it is raining, while it was 35-39 degrees in Spain during my stay there!



We had rented a house in the mountains about an hour's drive from Malaga city. It was so quiet and calm - only the cicadas made any noise. The nature was quite breathtaking.



Four houses shared one pool, but we were the only ones there for that week. Which meant we had the pool all to ourselves! I spent a lot of time there, reading Harry Potter and dipping my body when it was dry from the last dip.



The houses were not far from a small village. It was very cozy and filled with locals that looked at our very pale skins, haha.



One of the days we drove to Alhambra and saw the palace and surrounding gardens. That building in the first photo really made me think of the Three Musketeers! It looks so much like one of the sets from the play I watched last summer.



I had heard that to experience Alhambra was really something, so I had naturally thought the place must be grand. That is why I was a little bit disappointed with the scale of it, since I had expected it to be so much bigger.



According to texts found in this palace, the engravings state that Allah is mighty. I couldn't know this to be true or false though, since I don't read Arabic.
And oh wow, there was a surprisingly big amount of birds! They flew in formation, almost as to show off.



Alhambra was really spectacular though. All the detailing was quite amazing. I kept thinking that I must have taken just as long engraving the details as painting on all the gold in the Saint Peter's Church in Rome.



The Generalife garden was small but very nice. I loved the hedge! Its branches were so compressed that you could not push your hand any more that 5 cm in!



And then, sitting in a nice cafe, my semi-Uncle proposed! After 19 years together nevertheless. Of course she said yes. It was quite an experience to see it all happening from the sidelines. It really is not common to be able to participate in a proposal, is it now?



Champagne, champagne!



This vacation has already become a "family" legend...

Horcruxes and Mickey

Look what I received! My pre-ordered copy of Dear Mr. Potter. I immediately spotted the sender's address and tore the package up. Then I just sat there, clenching the book. I looked back on the package and saw the sender's signature... And I must admit - it really looks like it belongs to Lily Zalon! It is so cool that she sends off the books!



Then of course I had to open it. And just by reading those two lines on the first page, my heart grew warm and fuzzy. A feeling that stayed there as I read on. Harry Potter as a series has indeed come to an end, but it lives on in all of the fans' hearts. In my heart.
I used to look upon my Potter fandom as a very private matter, one I only shared with selected individuals... But it seems that that is about to change. For example, I finally joined several Harry Potter clubs on dA.



The entirely wicked 3D glasses. God, I love them!
I even took them with me at work - just carried them around in my pocket.

I watched the Deathly Hallows: part 2 again on the 13th. This time with Kristine and Emil! I just had to see it on the actual premiere.
Even though I went to the theater straight from work I accomplished getting all of my Luna stuff on. I just changed in the train, haha. Some people were really looking at me when I put on the wig, haha!



Kristine loving Snape. Who can blame her? I think everyone in the cinema was crying their hearts out in you-know-which-scene.
Danish television was there to film some fans... Myself included. But no one I know has seen any of the recordings. It really annoys me!



I simply cannot wait to see it again with my mother. She has (and still does) played a big part in my journey with Harry, since she read the first 3 books aloud to me...

Whilst working yesterday a man came over to me and asked how long I had worked for Disney. Which isn't long, you know, since the Store only opened up a month ago. And then he announced that next year would mark his 40th year with Disney in Florida. I was actually touched and I feel honoured to have met him.

M-m-mischief managed (Potter DH part 2)

I have now watched part 2 of the Deathly Hallows... I participated in Imperial cinema's Mega Marathon with all 8 films with the first 6 movies on Monday and parts 1 and 2 on Tuesday. Stine and Astrid accompanied me. The Limited Edition Harry Potter 3D-glasses were brilliant. I reckon I'll use them for every 3D movie I watch after this day.



Part 2 was a midnight screening. In Denmark the movie premiered today, on the 13th. We feel so lucky to have it so early!
It was kind of funny how the countdown screen was actually just a PowerPoint slide - we saw the actual off-slide screen several times. The last picture says "Here we go!". When the staff wrote that everyone in the audience just stomped their feet quickly on the floor for a whole minute in anticipation.



I dressed up as Luna Lovegood as she is one of my favourite characters. I tried to do her outfit as she looked in my head when I read the book instead of the movie-version. I liked Luna in this movie as well though - she had some excellent lines.



Everyone in the cinema had done something Pottery with their looks, be it a full costume or a simple House tie. It was so amazing.
As usual Imperial had dolled up the hall for the occasion. But this time they simply outdid themselves. Brooms and Dementors from the ceiling, spiders and the likes on the floor, spells on the walls and tables filled with wizard artifacts.



The 3D was not bad at all. We had been fearing it since 3D in live actions is usually not the best in the world. But it did not bother me all that much. My eyes hurt a bit but I suspect that was from crying so much... All those memories from the last at least 11 years just combined and made me feel terribly nostalgic.



That Fred Weasley... I find him to look quite spot on. Oh god, tearing up again.
And yes, that is the cinema staff, wearing hats and House ties. They rule.



I do not wish to spoil, since I know the movie has not come out in many countries. I must say this though: McGonagall impressed me. Hogwarts being destroyed made me feel utterly miserable. Ron and Hermione's kissed was lacking. Room of Requirement-scene was my favourite. The Hogwarts Suits of Armour were spectacular.
But I must admit that I was a teeny bit disappointed. Plus I feel so uncomfortably empty inside. I don't know if the two things are connected though. They changed a lot of things - some I did not like, some I did. I think I have to let it all sink in for a little longer.

Loony 2000

Today my Nimbus 2000 gracefully flew up to my room and placed itself right above my bed, amazingly visible from my seat at my desk.
Haha, I wish! No, it even says on the packing-box that "this broom does not fly". But my parents and I hung it from the ceiling.



It's a beauty! I actually did look at it for half an hour today. Just laying on my bed, reading The Goblet of Fire and looking over the book every 5 second to look at my pretty broomstick.

I can't wait for the premiere of the last movie... Just thinking about it makes goosebumps appear. I'll be going as one of my favourite characters: Luna Lovegood!

Dream of Paris

I just wanted to spam you darlings with my happiness. I really love working in Disney.

With that said I will now tell you that my favourite part of the Store's day is around the closing hour. Which may sound a bit odd, I know. But I love the transformation of the Store - every thing turns blue and the moon and stars appear. You see, I've always loved the night sky.

I also neglected to inform you that I took place in the Opening Ceremony on the Grand Opening. That is my insanely happy face just there. Our special opening-child was so adorable - I showed her around the Store and put her in the Sleeping Beauty dress before the opening. She was so baffled by all the magical things around her - so cute!



Me and my fellow Cast Members. We look splendid, if we say so ourselves. I have been called a poser though, haha.



Apparently I excel in regars to the magic mirror. Or at least I've been spending a lot of time there. Perhaps it's because the picture on the right was in the newspapers..?



And now to something completely different:

I. AM. GOING. TO. PARIS.

I'm participating in this year's Japan Expo. I'm looking so much forward to it! And right now I'm working on my Paprika cosplay. The con is holding a memorial for Satoshi Kon, R.I.P., and I wanted to take part somehow. I love his films, but Paprika most of all (dream-thrillers are excellent).
