AVATARRR ("The last airbender")

I went to see the Avatar movie yesterday with Line. We'd really been looking forward to seeing this, even though we kind of knew we'd be REALLY disappointed. We were prepared to sit like "NOOO OH GOD, MAKE IT STOOOP" throughout the whole movie. But turns out it really wasn't so bad!

SPOILER ALERT!

Haha, this was my starting point. I was really negative when the movie started. But then it started with the sillouhetes doing the 4 kinds of bending, the same as what the series open with in every episode! And then Line and I was jumping up and down in our seats happily haha.

The worst thing in the movie is that all Fire Nation are all Indian people! I mean, it is really clear in the series that they are chinese, japanese or something like that! They have slender bodies and faces, leaning eyes and their skin color is yellow-ish. So them beind Indian is really just wrong. Plus they are wearing classic chinese-ish clothing in the movie too, and... yeah. Just wrong.

And then their uniforms! (still talking about Fire Nation) They were really kind of western instead of being asian as they should be. Also, the series' uniforms are really nicely designed, so I was counting on the movie having just used those!

Moving on to Appa. In the series he is just so funny, cute and cuddly.

aaand in the movie he's like this:

When I first saw him I was like YESSS, because we saw him from behing. But when we saw his face Line and I was like URG. It just looks odd. When I look at the animated Appa now they kind of look very much alike, but it just still seems off with that face. I don't really know why though.

So my opinions about the movie:
- Indians are a no-go and their clothes and uniforms sucks (it looks like cosplays)
- Aang's tatoos was great. It wasn't a blue arrow, but the small signs forming an arrow was more realistic, and therefore all right.
- Katara was so not hardcore and Sokka wasn't funny and Jackson didn't play him very well (which they should have been). Plus, they had perfectly white skin, while they should have been tanned.
- Aang was kind of nicely casted. He had his PERFECT moments and that was great. The same with Yue.
- Zuko's scar was way too small
- In the end of the first season in the animeated series Aang becomes a giant monster because of the death of the koi fish (Moon Spirit), THIS:

But that didn't happen at all. I had been waiting for it the whole movie! He just bended the water. LAME.
- The bending was A-MA-ZING! Probably what made the movie not suck.
- The story was kind of confusing and rushed, but that was fine, because we could remember all the parts the movie skipped, haha. But for those who haven't watched the animated series, the movie would probably be very confusing. You didn't really get to know the persons either, only slightly Aang and Zuko.

So I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either.

This was my outfit. I really like that dress !!
Wow, loooong post. Sorry, haha.

Studious relaxation

Today was a very busy day. 8 hours of school and then directly off to work. I was beat when I got home, but of course I had to do my homework. I was sensible and did it immediately after my return instead of doing 100 other things - like I have come to do for the last year. Oh, the beauty of writing an essay in the middle of the night due to skipping.

So right now I'm about to put on one of my favourite facial masks and watch some random movie. I need energy! And I'll get it from staring into the screen for 90 relaxing minutes. Socializing and learning new things is serious business afterall.
Also, today some girls from my class helped me find everyone on Facebook. There's something we never accomplished in my last class. So now I've got 27 new facebook friends. Haha, it really lifted my spirits and I'm ready for another day in the classroom!

I finally got around to torment my cellphone enough for it to have space for danglers (no, it was not included in the phone, so I've actually kind of knowingly broken it). I did it to get my Ponyo dangler in action and was happy to see her gofy face all the time today, haha. And then I found out that she'd lost a leg when I got home! I was so sad. And angry. Mostly angry, haha. But what can you expect from such things, made for 0 DKK in China...

Rainy catwalk record

Yesterday I went to the World's greatest catwalk that was held in Copenhagen city. The fashion week, that is going on atm, was trying to create the longest outdoor catwalk the world has ever seen and the record therefore belongs to Denmark now. About 220 models participated and walked the 1.6 km.

The fashion week had expected about 100.000 spectators, but due to the rain I don't think so many turned up. But I don't really know. The models had it really rough, becuase the carpet got really wet and slippery. Many heels cracked and we saw a model fall.

This is the 9999th picture my camera has taken. Already. Kind of crazy.
The catwalk cost 5 million DKK which is a lot of money in my opinion. I think the money could have been better spent, but it was a nice enough event.

I went with Stine and Yin. We had fun standing with 2 umbrellas while 2 cameras were in action at all times haha.
The streets were filled with people and the metro was more crowded than I have ever seen in Denmark. It was almost like returning to Japan, haha!
Emil joined us after the walk and we all went to baresso to get dry. It kept on raining harder and harder and after 3 hours or so we just went out and got wet once again.

When I got home water was coming in from the ceiling and the walls. We ran around trying stop the rain from reaching the floor. It was pretty wild. I walked home in rain to my ankles and I was even wearing heels. I've never seen so much rain with my own eyes, haha.

Waves washing over me

The other day I went to the beach with Bell, Ida and Morten! It was my first trip to the beach here in Denmark this whole summer, so I was kind of excited. The water was still pretty cold, and we all had to rush under and then just get a move on, to keep warm.

Bell hadn't been to a beach since she was 10, so naturally she was so happy to see ocean again. She wanted to build something in the sand, so we nominated Morten to be covered in it. He kept breathing heavely, so the sand kept cracking, which was sort of annoying, haha. It's really been a long time since I made a sand person.

Morten went from mermaid to merman, haha. Oh, he's gonna kill me when he sees I've posted these... Nah, not really.
It was really fun even though it was kind of cold - I'm used to Japan, so Denmark IS cold - and I was happy to at least have made one trip to the beach this year.

School is kind of hard. Of course I knew I'd be hard to get to know a whole new class, but I'm just exhausted when I get home. I'm not usually shy, but when I go to shool a knot of nervousness form in my stomah and it holds me back... Will they like me?

Dreams and new classmates

I watched Inception the other day. Everyone here in Denmark is so hyped about this movie, so I was very eager to watch it after my return from Japan. We'd thought of watching it over there, but since it was expensive we decided to wait.
Since I had heard nothing about the plot before watching it I won't spill the beans about the story.
I thought it was good, but not as awesome as the newspapers and my friends say it is. The special effects were awesome, but the plot lacked a bit in my opinion at some points.

Speaking of special effects. There was this one scene with Joseph Gordon-Levitt in a sort of no-gravity sphere. It was so nicely done and it didn't seem fake at all. That was probably the only time during the whole movie that I was amazed.
I thought it funny how many of the actors have appeared in the new Batman movies. Like Michael Cane and Cillian Murphy (LOVE both!)
And there's also something else. Joseph looks SO much like Heath Ledger. I had heard there was a dude who looked similar to him from my friends, but when I saw him it was really quite a shock. And to think they played together in "10 things I hate about you".

I started school today. And on a new school at that. I was very nervous on my arrival, but I guess it went all right. I'm anxious to return tomorrow in both the good and bad way. So many new faces to learn...

Japan Tripping - Tokyo

Okay, sorry for picture spaaam but I just wanted to get out of Japan-entries.

I went to Tokyo Disneyland with my friend Morten, who was in Japan to see the WCS. We met up at Tokyo st. and took the subway to the park. It was much more fun than I had expected it to be and not as hot as I'd feared - though it didn't seem like Morten agreed with me on the latter.

We didn't get to try/see all the things we'd planned to, but that didn't really matter. We saw the two parades and I tried a lot of rollercoasters that I just did not want to try. Morten loves the scary ones so of course he dragged me with him on those - I was shaking like crazy at the end of the day because there had been so many nerve-wrecking coasters.

The evening parade was really something. I thought it a whole lot better than the one in Paris, but maybe that's just because I don't remember that one so clearly. All in all it was a great day and it was soooo nice to see another Dane.

My parents and I went up in the Tokyo Tower and stayed there from about 5 untill it was dark, to see how the city lit up. It was really interesting. It just didn't really look 13 meters taller than the Eiffel Tower, haha.

We also went to Ghibli! This was a trip I'd been looking forward to. I'd really tried to push my expectations down because I'd heard a lot of disappointment about the museum, and it worked! I came with no hopes and was amazed. It was really magical and inspiring.

As ticket to the museum you receive a piece of film from one of the Studio Ghibli films and I got Haku!!! Jesus, I was happy. I totally adore him and my parents got some boring ones.
I was really happy we went there.

Of course we also went to Tsukiji. It was kind of a bad experience because we felt like intruders at an important work-place so we went away quickly. But they had some crazy fish! That squid tentacle was as big as my dad's arm. Yikes!
I wanted to go to the Yoyogi Park flea marked and my parents tagged along. Turned out to be a great sight with about 300 stalls and ordinary japanese people. I got a lot of great things here - my parents had to tell meto stop buying things. It was also great that they, the Japanese, didn't discriminate just because we were foreigners - they told ud the same prices as they would have given their fellow countrymen.

I got my hair colored! It was my first time so I was scared that the color wouldn't be as I wanted it to be. And he actully fucked up. The color is so off the one I wanted. I wanted a caramel/orange color and it turned out reddish purple. I was sad at first but now I don't really care.

We watched the fireworks at Sumidagawa river the last night. It was SO crowded. We'd thought there were many people for the Gion Matsuri in Kyoto, but this was just crazy! It was like the whole of Tokyo crammed in one place. We also got to be pushed into trains when we went home, that's how many people were there.

Approximately 20.000 fireworks was displayed in 1.5 hours. And it wasn't bad fireworks at all. It was really impressive. Still can't beat New Year evening in 2000 here in Denmark though.

From the bus on our way to Narita. We were ready to go home.

... but that wasn't how it went. Our flight was cancelled so we had to take a different route home. Instead of 10 hours in a plane we spent 16 hours in two planes and 2 hours waiting for the second one. We were so tired when we finally reach Kastrup airport, only to find out that our baggage hadn't come with us from Rome. We got them 3 days later.

It's good to be home.

Time passing faster than the lightning striking

Wow.

Guys, sorry for not updating. There was just so much trouble on our way back home from Japan and the last days over there I really wanted to just experience everything without having to rush back to my computer and blog.
And then the days kind of ran by only leaving spooky fog behind. Haha!

I hope you understand! I'll do a post tomorrow about the last week in Japan.
